Today I had a really good catch of words and expressions. Most of them I have heard before, but haven’t got round to writing them down.
So, here’s one for the indecisive to use when you want to encourage somebody to make a decision (often choosing between the two options) because they are in a position to do so and you are usually not – it’s your call.
Some examples to make it a bit clearer:
– ‘Do you think we should invite him to the wedding?’ ‘I don’t know, it’s your call.’
– ‘Do we give him the job?’ ‘You’re the boss, it’s your call.’
You might come across such phrases as ‘it’s a tough call‘, ‘it’s a hard call‘, or ‘it’s an easy call‘.
